Thursday, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. - at the Andres Pico Adobe.

The Central Intelligence Agency is portrayed in fiction both as the hero and sometimes the villain. But what does the CIA actually do versus how it’s portrayed in books and on the screen? Is covert action effective? And are spies justified in what they do? Please join us for a presentation and discussion with Adam Sikes, author of the thrilling international espionage novels, LANDSLIDE and THE UNDERHANDED, and a former intelligence officer with the CIA as he sorts through the truth, myths, conspiracies, and lies about the CIA.

Adam Sikes served for over twenty-five years in US national security and is a former paramilitary officer with the CIA and a US Marine Corps combat veteran. He has lived and operated in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, Europe, and Russia. His first novel, Landslide, was published in September 2022 and is a spy thriller set in Ukraine. His forthcoming novel, The Underhanded, will be released in April 2024. Adam holds an M.A. in History from Georgetown University and resides in Southern California.
