Thursday, February 22nd at 7:00 p.m. - at the New Life Church of the Nazarene.

Just as real estate deals helped shape the San Fernando Valley, subdivisions and developments gave birth to Studio City. Led by real estate mogul Harry Merrick, a real estate syndicate of entertainment and local officials attempted to establish a city of motion picture studios along the south bank of the Los Angeles River in 1928, along with a major housing development east of the production center to cater to entertainment employees.

Come hear historian Mary Mallory talk about Harry Merrick, the father of Studio City and his many real estate projects which put it on the map.
